About me...

My name is Dr. Aria Thomé. I am a Certified Sound Healer, Reiki Master, Gong Practitioner, and fully initiated practicing shaman in the Munay Ki tradition of Peru, having studied with three different shamans. I am also certified shamanic drum circle facilitator. A trans activist, I operate an active voice studio assisting meet the challenges of vocal dysphoria with contemporary vocal pedagogical techniques. 

I hold a Level 2 Sound Healing Diploma and a Level 2 Tuning Forks certification from the esteemed Sound Healing Academy out of England and completed the Dream Seed Cooperative sound healing training program, which focused not only on the science and physics of sound, but also highlighted the use of sound in indigenous traditions. Further studies have allowed me to incorporate knowledge of acupuncture and acupuncture using sound instruments with great levels of success into my practice.

My doctoral degree is in Sacred Music, which has afforded me the chance to study world chanting practices and how to incorporate the voice into not only sessions but how to utilize the voice daily for voice reclamation. Currently, I am enrolled in Vedic chanting studies has allowed for further voice healing practices both individual and within sessions. 

My individual sound healing sessions utilize Crystal Singing Bowls, Himalayan Bowls, Drums, Chimes, Tuning Forks, Gongs, and the Human Voice to specifically address your specific physical, emotional, and spiritual concerns. I do this with the knowledge of using sound to assess the body's various energetic systems both on the physical and mental/emotional planes of existence. Treatment after assessment allows the body to activate its own healing capabilities as the instruments are used systematically to address concerns. 

I am also a student of Bhakti yoga, the yoga of devotion, and compose and perform kirtan locally to bring people into an experience of oneness with the Divine. I invite you to check out my Kirtan and Bhakti yoga offerings on the events tab!

I have had the pleasure of leading healing drum circles at mental health and rehab clinics, halfway houses, and within the community to create healing through community. Bringing sound healing out into the community is becoming a theme I try to embody as I further my healing studies such as for mothers who are grieving the loss a child or recently released incarcerated women just before reentering society. Lastly, I use my chanting knowledge in hospice care settings to bring peace and comfort to those at the last stages of life.
